Pretty Pastel Pinks...

With Spring having sprung and summer on its way, we have been looking at colours and images to inspire our new designs. Pastels are popular this year with designers such as Elie Saab and Ralph Lauren using delicate, subtle, sugary shades. We've put together an inspiration board with a pretty pastel pink palette and very sweet shades indeed...

Mad About Macaroons - Part Two...

In our previous post Mad About Macaroons we looked at inspiring ways to present and style macaroons for a wedding, shower or event you may have and they make great little favours too! For our follow up post today we take a look at the versatility of this sweet treat which will work with any event style or scheme!

Macaroons can be made with an array of scrumptious flavours and here are some delicious
flavour-ways we have come across:

White chocolate & raspberry macaroons
Raspberry mascarpone macaroons
Carrot cake macaroons
Grapefruit & white chocolate macaroons
Chestnut macaroons with pink champagne filling

Vanilla & almond macaroons
Lavender macaroons

Yes, there is a world of macaroon flavours out there for you to choose from! You could make a selection to suit everyone's tastes and include food labels/signs as part of the display to inform your guests what's on offer. We can design these to match your colours too! Speaking of colours - there are some magical macaroon colour-ways too. From pretty pastels to dusky shades of purple - you can make them match your day. Here are some of our favourite examples...

Ombre macaroons . Via Pei Li's Minatures

Beautiful sugary pink coloured macaroons decorated with a gold 'x' or 'o' is a super cute idea .

Adding a hint of gold leaf, how decadent! . Via That Inspirational Girl

Plain and simple purple macaroons still look pretty . Via Hitched

If you're looking to be even more creative with your macaroons you'll love these inspirations too:

Macaroon pops as an alternative to cake pops! They could even look like baby rattle and make a very sweet dessert for baby showers . Via Klitzeklien

Heart shaped macaroons and they don't have to be red either . Via Little Sooti

If you require some beautiful signs or labels for your dessert tables, or favour signs/tags

Mad About Macaroons...

In recent years we've seen that weddings, showers and parties have popular trends for party food such as sweetie bars, cupcakes (which can even replace traditional tiered cakes) and also stacks of different cheeses in place of sweet desserts altogether. It's great to see different options out there and a latest favorite of ours is the macaroon! We predict that these delightfully delicious treats will replace the current craze for cupcakes at events! They are sophisticated, scrumptious and so easily worked into any scheme too.

In this post we take a look at inspirations for presentation and our follow up post will look at the vast variety of Macaroons out there - their flavor combinations, decorating them and the brilliant rainbow of colours too!

We love this idea of using cake stands & a cloche so that you can incorporate other desserts too .

Using a tiered cake stand which compliments your event style & scheme. Adding a label to the
top tier is a great idea especially if you have a selection of flavors available.

Do a Runner...

We have been looking at tablescapes for weddings and showers and how you can add some creative flair to design something unique to your event. We previously looked at clever creations for centerpieces and table numbers and this time we bring you table runners!

Table runners create a fantastic feature and can really add to your event's style by perhaps showcasing your chosen colour scheme or DIY designs. They make a great alternative to the traditional centerpiece but can also look good with a display of smaller centerpieces flowing along the table, such as tea-lights and lanterns or perhaps smaller floral displays.

Here we have gathered some great inspirations and ideas about using table runners for your wedding or shower and we love the idea of customising your own too...

DIY design - a runner created using pages from books! Perhaps you could create a runner made of maybe love letters, the pages of your favorite novels or even love poems...

Sew lovely - sewing buttons just on the overhanging edges of your runners to compliment your wedding/showers style. You could keep it simple and sew mismatching buttons of the same colour for example white buttons upon a lilac runner. You could even create an ombre effect sewing buttons of different shades of the same colour to fade out towards the table...

Touches of texture - create something interesting using different trimmings in colours to compliment your scheme. Using a mixture of lace, ribbons of different widths, velvet trim and so on. You could again use trimmings of the same colour but differenet widths and textures or also an ombre effect...

Pretty prints - choosing a printed fabric can look really striking along your table and you can compliment the print by using decorative items of the same colour to sit along the runner too. This neutral palette of greys, silvers, creams and white looks elegant and interesting...

A sliver of something - using a delicate & intricately designed runner such as this can make a beautiful statement. Dress it with tasteful decorative pieces to create a terrific table...

Sparkle statement - go for some intense sequin splashes with a runner in silver or gold! Tame it with tealights and candles that catch the light and create a beautiful effect in the evening with twinkling sequins and flickering flames...

There's a New Show in Town...

We love the new generation of wedding shows which move away from the mass of seen it all before stands and that awful hard sell, to provide something more unique, fun and inspiring for planning your wedding! That is after-all how it should be - you want to go away from a wedding show feeling excited and not feeling disappointed or worse still with a headache!

The wonderful Make up Artist Jo Leversuch told us about a new wedding show called The Wedding Institute which will be held at the picturesque seaside village of Saltburn. The organisers are photographer Becky Mitchell & stationer Vicky Trainor who have aimed the fayre at "Brides who are searching for a slice of uniqueness and a cup of originality"...

Jo Leversuch will be there to offer expert make-up demonstrations along with other great vendors but get in touch quickly as admission to this event is by pre-registration only!
