Black & Gold Bridal Shower Inspirations // Itty Bitty Bijou

Today I have some beautiful inspirations for both Bridal and Baby Showers, with a glitzy Black & Gold theme! With gold calligraphy on black for stationery, fringing to hang above dessert tables and marvelous Macarons! I adored these examples of macarons - the white versions decorated with gold chevrons and the rich black macarons - these would look perfect with a hint of edible gold leaf too!

The fun doesn't stop there either - get creative with drinks, such as the shot glasses with rims dusted glittery gold sugar and also the black balloon drink stirrers!

Pink lemonade, milkshakes, ice cream served in teacups all set on beautiful serving trays. Add some cute seating such as leather Moroccan pouffes and pretty blankets and throws....

Shower Ideas with a Honey Bee Theme...

Today on the itty bitty & bijou blog we have a new mood board for baby showers or even bridal showers! It has a honey bee - sweet as honey theme and fresh creamy colours with dashes of warm honey tones and even lovely lemon!

Key ideas for this honey bee & sweet as honey theme include the following:
* Serve honeycomb at the desert table with ice cream
* Use honey stirrers as drink/cocktail stirrers
* Use burlap and twine to keep this natural colour palette - for table runners etc.
* Little jars of honey make great favours and you can easily make your own fabric covers to personalize or
co-ordinate them. The honeycomb printed fabric would look lovely.
* These bee and honey comb pots would make great elements or even centerpieces!
* Keep floral pieces simple & fresh. Using glass jars wrapped with twine are effective.

Favour Packaging Finds...

Following on from our previous post Nice Package, we have some great finds to create some great gift wrap/packaging ideas. These are ideal for favours whether for weddings, showers of birthdays!

We looked at craft supplies you could purchase to recreate the more modern looks from our previous inspiration post. Going with neon pink, gold glitter twine and cute kraft pillow boxes, we thought there is still room for you to personalise these - perhaps try your hand at doing your own calligraphy or even use a custom made stamp for the labels - we design custom & bespoke monograms which would be ideal for this!

shops visit their Etsy stores here: Knot & Bow and The Wrappery

Nice Package...

Wrapping can often be an afterthought but when the wrapping is almost as good as the packaging it's really good to spend a little time thinking about it and of course you can get a bit creative too! When you've spent so much time planning your perfect party, shower or wedding decor and design elements, it can be great to tie in your overall style with the wrapping for favours, token thank you gifts and so on.

This weeks wrapping inspirations are all about kraft paper or boxes and string/twine. These materials are cost effective, have a handmade look and can be tweaked to co-ordinate with various styles of events. Perhaps give your kraft & twine a modern twist, a rustic look or add a simple something which is a key element from your event.

Here we share some great little inspirations we have come across...

Modern Looks

We love this use of neon pink twine & a beautifully designed label attached by simply wrapping twine around the packaging several times. We've found this is a popular trend too . Image via You Are My Fave

Sticking with the neon theme - literally - they have used neon stickers to decorate the kraft paper
for these wedding favours & then finished with string tied in a traditional parcel fashion .
Via Project Wedding & Photographed by Chelsea Fuss

It's a great idea to create your own print or design & cute out shapes such as these hearts to add interest & a
unique element to your packaging. Alternatively you could use pages from a book that is relevant,
music sheets or maybe even maps . Image via Pinterest original source unknown

Rustic Looks...

Using strips of material under the string to add some colour. Threading a flower throught the twine - be it
crafted or real also makes a pretty detail . Image via Whipperberry

Using Washi tape or ribbon to add some colour will match in with your event style. Adding little vintage keys as displayed in this example is a cute detail especially for weddings . Image via Oh Hello Friend

This super cute wrapping idea uses kraft paper & twine with a beautiful bird tag, label with the appropriate greeting and finished off with a small twig for the bird to rest upon. Beautiful idea! . Image via Carolyns Homework

Mad About Macaroons - Part Two...

In our previous post Mad About Macaroons we looked at inspiring ways to present and style macaroons for a wedding, shower or event you may have and they make great little favours too! For our follow up post today we take a look at the versatility of this sweet treat which will work with any event style or scheme!

Macaroons can be made with an array of scrumptious flavours and here are some delicious
flavour-ways we have come across:

White chocolate & raspberry macaroons
Raspberry mascarpone macaroons
Carrot cake macaroons
Grapefruit & white chocolate macaroons
Chestnut macaroons with pink champagne filling

Vanilla & almond macaroons
Lavender macaroons

Yes, there is a world of macaroon flavours out there for you to choose from! You could make a selection to suit everyone's tastes and include food labels/signs as part of the display to inform your guests what's on offer. We can design these to match your colours too! Speaking of colours - there are some magical macaroon colour-ways too. From pretty pastels to dusky shades of purple - you can make them match your day. Here are some of our favourite examples...

Beautiful sugary pink coloured macaroons decorated with a gold 'x' or 'o' is a super cute idea .

If you're looking to be even more creative with your macaroons you'll love these inspirations too:

Mad About Macaroons...

In recent years we've seen that weddings, showers and parties have popular trends for party food such as sweetie bars, cupcakes (which can even replace traditional tiered cakes) and also stacks of different cheeses in place of sweet desserts altogether. It's great to see different options out there and a latest favorite of ours is the macaroon! We predict that these delightfully delicious treats will replace the current craze for cupcakes at events! They are sophisticated, scrumptious and so easily worked into any scheme too.

In this post we take a look at inspirations for presentation and our follow up post will look at the vast variety of Macaroons out there - their flavor combinations, decorating them and the brilliant rainbow of colours too!

We love this idea of using cake stands & a cloche so that you can incorporate other desserts too .

Using a tiered cake stand which compliments your event style & scheme. Adding a label to the
top tier is a great idea especially if you have a selection of flavors available.

Do a Runner...

We have been looking at tablescapes for weddings and showers and how you can add some creative flair to design something unique to your event. We previously looked at clever creations for centerpieces and table numbers and this time we bring you table runners!

Table runners create a fantastic feature and can really add to your event's style by perhaps showcasing your chosen colour scheme or DIY designs. They make a great alternative to the traditional centerpiece but can also look good with a display of smaller centerpieces flowing along the table, such as tea-lights and lanterns or perhaps smaller floral displays.

Here we have gathered some great inspirations and ideas about using table runners for your wedding or shower and we love the idea of customising your own too...

DIY design - a runner created using pages from books! Perhaps you could create a runner made of maybe love letters, the pages of your favorite novels or even love poems...
Image by Frost Photography via Style Me Pretty

Sew lovely - sewing buttons just on the overhanging edges of your runners to compliment your wedding/showers style. You could keep it simple and sew mismatching buttons of the same colour for example white buttons upon a lilac runner. You could even create an ombre effect sewing buttons of different shades of the same colour to fade out towards the table...
Image from Jessica Claire & Delightful Events

Touches of texture - create something interesting using different trimmings in colours to compliment your scheme. Using a mixture of lace, ribbons of different widths, velvet trim and so on. You could again use trimmings of the same colour but differenet widths and textures or also an ombre effect...
Image by Jeanna Heyes & Ucreate Parties

Pretty prints - choosing a printed fabric can look really striking along your table and you can compliment the print by using decorative items of the same colour to sit along the runner too. This neutral palette of greys, silvers, creams and white looks elegant and interesting...
Image via Chic Kissimo

A sliver of something - using a delicate & intricately designed runner such as this can make a beautiful statement. Dress it with tasteful decorative pieces to create a terrific table...
Image by Hillary Maybery Photography via Style Me Pretty

Sparkle statement - go for some intense sequin splashes with a runner in silver or gold! Tame it with tealights and candles that catch the light and create a beautiful effect in the evening with twinkling sequins and flickering flames...

Pinwheels Like to Party!

Pinwheels are fun, cute, and quirky - oh and they are everywhere! For showers, parties and weddings - the pinwheel is making an appearance as part of the decor, as favours for guests, they are used in place of a bouquet for bridesmaids and also as props for photo booths!

We like this trend as it's a little different and of course we love the fact that you can get creative and have fun making them yourself! Making your own to your own colour palette and theme means that you'll have some truly unique elements for your event.

Pinwheels personally remind us of summer time in childhood watching the pinwheels whizz in the breeze! Cute! Here are some beautiful examples of pinwheels partying...
